Haikus through Hebrews, chapter 8

Jesus Christ, High Priest of a New Covenant:
"They serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things.  ...But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.  For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second. ...In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete.  And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away." Hebrews 8:5a,6,7,13

*Important NotePlease read through the whole of Hebrews (I recommend the English Standard Version or New American Standard Bible) for contextual significance (and significant context!).  There is a lot of Scriptural meat found outside these 17 syllables.  I pray that the Spirit will cover over any errors made on my part, and most importantly, that He will speak truth to your heart.  To God alone be the glory!

8:1
Now the main point in
What we are saying is this:
We have this kind of

8:1 (continued)
High priest, who sat down
At the right hand of the throne
Of the Majesty

8:1-2
In heaven, and who
Serves in the sanctuary,
The true tent set up

8:2-3
By the Lord and not
Man, for every high priest
Is appointed to

8:3
Offer both gifts and
Sacrifices; therefore it
Was necessary

8:3-4
For this priest also
To have something to offer.
If he were on earth,

8:4
He would not be a
Priest at all, since there are those
Who offer the gifts

8:4-5
According to Law.
They serve as a copy and
Shadow of what is

8:5
In heaven, just as
Moses was warned by God when
About to build the

8:5 (continued)
Tabernacle: "See
To it that you make ev'ry-
Thing according to

8:5-6
"The pattern shown you
On the mountain."  But Jesus
Has now obtained a

8:6
More superior
Ministry, by as much as
He is also the

8:6 (continued)
Mediator of
A better covenant, which
Has been legally

8:6-7
Enacted upon
Better promises.  For if
That first covenant

8:7
Had been faultless, there
Would have been no occasion
For a second one.

8:7-8
For finding fault with
The people he said: "Behold,
The days are coming

8:8
"Declares the Lord, when
I will establish a new
Covenant with the

8:8-9
"House of Israel
And with the house of Judah.
It will not be like

8:9
"The covenant I
Made with their fathers on the
Day when I took them

8:9 (continued)
"By the hand to bring
Them out of Egypt.  They did
Not remain faithful

8:9 (continued)
"To my covenant
And so I showed no concern
For them, declares the Lord.

8:10
"But this is the new
Covenant that I will make with
House of Israel

8:10 (continued)
"After those days, says
The Lord: I will put my laws
Into their minds and

8:10 (continued)
"I will write them on
Their hearts, and I will be their
God, and they shall be

8:10-11
"My people.  And they
Shall not teach everyone his
Fellow citizen

8:11
"And everyone
His brother, saying, 'Know the
Lord,' for all will know

8:11-12
"Me, from the least to
The greatest of them.  For I
Will be merciful

8:12
"To their wrongdoing,
And I will never again
Remember their sins."

8:13
In speaking of a
New covenant, he makes the
First one obsolete.

8:13 (continued)
What is obsolete
And growing old is ready
To vanish away.
